The artist behind the nude carpet portrait of John Key is back - this time with a full-frontal rug version of Labour leader Andrew Little.

The artwork, a finalist for the 25th Annual Wallace Art Awards 2016, was created by Whanganui artist Mark Rayner.

The dramatic piece, with a bold red background, shows a nude and surprisingly well-muscled Mr Little with his arms folded.

Light plays over his bare chest and chiselled shoulders - while down below, Mr Little shows he's no stranger to manscaping.

In a tweet, deputy chair of the Albert-Eden Local Board Glenda Fryer posed next to the artwork, displayed at Pah homestead.

Mr Rayner drew attention to his works in June, after a blue rendition of Prime Minister John Key went up for auction on Trade Me.

We can only wonder when it will be NZ First leader Winston Peters' turn to be captured in the flesh. However, judging from Mr Little's depiction, he'll have a lot to live up to.
