The man found guilty of murdering his estranged wife in a vicious knife attack has appealed against his conviction and sentence.
Mei Fan's ex-husband Michael Preston was sentenced last year to a minimum non-parole period of 19 years.
In a Court of Appeal hearing on Tuesday his lawyers argued there was no "smoking gun" and the Crown case was "circumstantial".
The Court reserved its decision.
Ms Fan was brutally killed in her Miramar home in 2013 after dropper her children off at school.
A jury also found Preston guilty of breaching a protection order.
