An arrest has been made following an aggravated burglary in Christchurch on Saturday morning.

Three offenders were disturbed at around 6:30am by the occupants of an address in Burwood, Christchurch, police say.

One of the suspects had entered the house and stolen some car keys, before being confronted.

The offenders then fled the scene, with one attempting to steal a bicycle from a neighbouring property, police say.

All three eventually fled on foot, followed by some of the occupants of the house.

Police were alerted, and one of the suspects was located nearby by a police dog. The 24-year-old male has been charged with two counts of aggravated burglary, after a Taser was allegedly found in his possession.

He will appear in court on Monday.

The remaining two are currently being sought and anyone with information is asked to contact police.
