Bad day on the roads in Christchurch

A woman was flown to Christchurch Hospital with serious injuries after crashing near Rangiora on Wednesday afternoon.

St John sent two ambulance and two rapid response teams as well as the Westpac Rescue Helicopter.

The incident happened on River Rd around 1:30pm. A St John spokesperson says her car is believed to have gone off the road.

The woman was in her 40s.

Earlier on Wednesday afternoon another road accident occurred when a truck collided with a cyclist on the intersection of Armagh St and Manchester St.

The incident happened shortly before 2pm and the cyclist was taken to Christchurch Hospital with serious injuries.

Emergency Services also attended a crash around 3:45pm today at the Pegasus roundabout and truck driver was seriously injured after rolling down the bank on the southern motorway this morning.
