A bizarre new website has appeared, claiming Christchurch mayor Bob Parker "engineered" Saturday's devastating earthquake using "psychic mind waves broadcast from public sculpture".

The site, hosted on Google's open blogging platform blogger.com, is full of outlandish conspiracy theories and complex, pseudo-scientific mathematical equations.

Writing in a strange mix of upper and lower case letters, the unknown author writes on bobparkerengineeredthechchquake.blogspot.com that: "This blog has been established to counter the disinformation spread by fascist mainstream New Zealand media and provide irrefutable and conclusive evidence that former This Is Your Life host Bob Parker has generated destructive tectonic plate shifts via psychic mind waves broadcast from public sculpture."

On his profile, the author says he is male, a Gemini, and a fan of Kiwi singer Flip Grater. His interests include truth-seeking and the documentary film Zeitgeist: The Movie.

The website claims Mr Parker is a "reptilian" that was 'hatched' in 1956. In his career, Mr Parker allegedly cloned himself – twice – and invested heavily in the "Jew-run chimney industry". Several chimneys are known to have collapsed in the quake.
Other reptilians include cook Alison Holst, rowers the Evers-Swindell twins, singers Ray Columbus, Rikki Morris and James Reid of the Feelers, as well as "the trumpet player from Supergroove".

Prime Minister John Key is not a reptialian, however – the site claims he is in fact a "holographic construct", the proof being that "we never see the lower half of his body".

The website's claims were - unsurprisingly - unable to be authenticated.

Political prediction site iPredict did record a surge in shares betting on a Mr Parker win in the upcoming Christchurch mayoral election.
