'Brutal assault' before Canterbury body burnt - police

Police have released further details into the death of Marcus Tucker, whose body was found in Canterbury on Monday.

Detective Inspector Tom Fitzgerald confirmed his body was burned and Mr Tucker was brutally assaulted prior to his death.

He says they're continuing to support Mr Tucker's family and there is no risk to the wider community.

Mr Tucker was found on Monday at the end of Drain Rd in Doyleston, near the water front of Lake Ellesmere. Police believe he may have been dead for some time.

A guarded cordon remains in place today as a homicide investigation continue.

Police have not yet made any arrests.
