A boat found on fire about 500m off Motutapu Island near Home Bay this morning is now being removed from the area.
The Coastguard says the Fire Service has put out the fire and the boat is now being taken to the Gulf Harbour Marina in Whangaparaoa.
It is believed electrical problems started the fire, however a thorough assessment of the boat is yet to be completed.
Two people were on board the 10m hybrid boat and were rescued when another boat pulled up alongside it. They are understood to be uninjured.
