Cameron Leslie, the Kiwi living in Norway who shot to worldwide fame when he bragged about his strength during a TV interview, has blasted companies he says are ridiculing him.

Mr Leslie, who was at an Oslo gym when the blast happened, told Campbell Live on Monday night he was on the "eighth-repetition of a 165kg bench-press", and after being told there had been an explosion, finished his exercise routine before leaving.

"Naturally, I finished my set," he told host John Campbell.

T-shirt company Mr Vintage quickly pounced, releasing a t-shirt emblazoned with the infamous phrase, just as they have done many times in the past (they also sell t-shirts with iconic Kiwi phrases like "You must always blow on the pie" and "Good afterbull, consternoon").

Beer company Tui, famous for their edgy, topical 'Yeah right' billboards, took to its Facebook page to rub it in, uploading a picture of a billboard reading "8th repetition of 165kg / Naturally I finished my set / Yeah right".

Mr Leslie – who has since apologised for "making a joke in bad times" – took to Mr Vintage's Facebook page to air his views.

"Hey Mr. Vintage," writes Mr Leslie. "The fact you are trying to ridicule me for your own commercial gain makes me sick and proves to everyone on here what a low-lying scumbag you are. Any individuals, associations or businesses trying to make profits from my pictures, videos or comments will be forced to donate proceeds to charity.

"Tui New Zealand is first and then I'm coming for you you prick!"

Mr Vintage responded, "cool story bro", and one fan of Mr Vintage said Mr Leslie was "just making it worse" for himself.

"Congratulations Cam, you're a pop culture meme," said another.

Mr Leslie says he is going to dedicate his time in the spotlight to getting terrorist Andres Breivik's face out of the media.

"It seems I have unintentionally succeeded in this and want to make good from this situation," he wrote in a blog post. "We don't want Anders Breivik to be remembered! We want his pictures removed from the tabloids… I have sacrificed my reputation for it and now I ask you all to sacrifice 5 minutes of your time to write to these tabloids and help us."
