Christchurch residents have not let the devastating earthquake squash their sense of humour.

There are hundreds of listings on auction website TradeMe, some raising money, some selling damaged goods and some just for a laugh.

One Christchurch seller, Phil Johnson, is selling “landscape rocks” including a very large bolder which has enhanced the “indoor outdoor flow” of his living room.

“For sale, one owner, 25-30 tonne landscape feature (answers to the name Rocky) ...

"He is in pristine condition (just a little bit of concrete dust). Suitable for garden feature, or as in our case a magnificent addition to your living area.”

The auction reserve has been met and the bidding has already reached over $950.

There is only one catch, Rocky can not be delivered.

“Sorry, but we are unable to deliver Rocky but would be happy for you to pick him up and roll him away (please mind our neighbours when you do).”

But there are some added extras:

"Highest bid (should there be one) gets personalised photo with Rocky (when cordon lifts) and of course a wonderful addition to your home.”

All the proceeds from this auction go to the Christchurch Earthquake Appeal.
