Christchurch house fire victim's family travels to NZ

The family of a man whose body was found in a burnt-out Woolston house is travelling from overseas to be with him.

Police have named the man as 66-year-old Stephen Rayner.

They say there's nothing to suggest the fire at the Rutherford St home, in Christchurch on July 27 was suspicious.

However, they are still investigating.

At the time of the fire, a number of people called the fire service to say someone had been inside. Mr Rayner's body was found inside at the back of the house.

The fire created so much smoke it could be seen billowing across the industrial suburb.
