Court for teen after Otago Uni patroller assaulted

A 19-year-old Auckland man will appear in Dunedin District Court after allegedly assaulting an Otago University campus watch patroller.

Police were responding to reports of disorderly behaviour on Castle Street around 8.30pm on Thursday. They say the teenager assaulted the patroller who required hospital treatment for facial injuries.

The man has been charged with two counts of threatening behaviour and assault and will appear in court on Friday.

Earlier this week, 19-year-old Nikolas Delegat, the son of a rich-lister, was sentenced to 300 hours' community work for assaulting a female police officer after an incident in the student quarter March 2015.
