The daughter of a murdered Auckland man is struggling to comprehend news his killer will walk free soon.

Natalie Fenton, along with her sister and a friend, killed Ray Mullins in a frenzied attack in 1999.

She was just 15 years old at the time.

Yesterday Fenton was granted parole and is set to be released from jail in April.

Mr Mullins' daughter, Leigh-Anne, says she is now worried for her family's safety because Fenton is being released in the Auckland region.

"I was gob-smacked that they're going to release her, just blown away by it. There was just no remorse whatsoever," she says.

"My family, my immediate family, my aunties and uncles and cousins and all those, are spread out over Auckland."

The other two killers have been released - but one was recently recalled to prison.
