A man was stabbed in the Christchurch suburb of Hornby last night in a domestic violence incident.
The 46-year-old man was taken to Christchurch Hospital and underwent surgery.
He is in a stable condition this morning.
A 48-year-old woman was arrested at the address and is due to appear in the Christchurch District Court next Friday.
Police are investigating the incident and will complete a scene examination today.
Detective Sergeant Geoff Ruddick says it is concerning that relationships deteriorate to this level, and there are a number of agencies that can help people in similar situations.
