Dozens of people have spent the weekend lining up for their legal high fix at a Palmerston North store.
Cues of people lined the street outside the R18 Express/Naked Pie Man store on Fitzherbert Ave early Saturday morning, waiting for the store to reopen after it was closed for Good Friday.
Last night was the same story, with dozens of people lining up down the street.
Hannah Trischler told 3 News at 11:55pm last night, the line was almost stretching past Toy World which is more than three shops down.
Legal highs retailer Shane Simpson told Fairfax Media the store was closed on Good Friday and Easter Sunday, but reopened at 12:01am on Saturday and today.
The queues outside the store have highlighted once again, New Zealand's problem with legal high addictions.
Police reported a number of legal high-related callouts over Easter, including a spike in the number of black market sales.
One man in the Palmerston North area was reportedly selling legal highs for twice the recommended retail price, and without a licence.
Earlier this month thousands of people marched across the country, calling for a complete ban on legal high products.
The Psychoactive Substances Bill was passed in July last year, which placed restrictions on the sale of party pills and synthetic cannabis.
Currently there are 41 legal high products on sale in New Zealand, down from around 300 before the bill passed.
