Dunedin Police have charged a local 47-year-old man with murder after the discovery of a 66-year-old man's body on Wednesday morning.
The deceased was found at an address in Brockville, a suburb in northwest Dunedin.
Scene examinations have begun at two separate Dunedin addresses, and a post-mortem is expected to be undertaken on Thursday.
Police are not currently seeking anyone else in connection with the incident, but inquiries are continuing.
They have also expressed gratitude to members of the public for their assistance in the investigation.
The man is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday.
