Eleven people have been arrested after a 10-month police investigation into an alleged drug network.
Five men from west Auckland in their 20s are facing charges including manufacturing ecstasy, participating in an organised criminal group, conspiracy to supply ecstasy and supplying ecstasy.
They were arrested after a series of police searches in west Auckland last Thursday in which 650 ecstasy pills, 700g of a white powder, a pill press and $11,000 in cash were seized.
They appeared in Waitakere District Court on Friday and will reappear in court on April 15, Detective Sergeant Dean Miles said.
Three men and two women from Gisborne, and a 24-year-old Hamilton man, have also been arrested after police said they established links between those cities and the west Auckland investigation.
They face charges including possession of ecstasy for supply, conspiracy to supply ecstasy, supplying ecstasy and unlawful possession of a pistol.
Det Sgt Miles said about 500 ecstasy analogue pills were found following the Gisborne arrests.
