For the past two days, customers at a Hastings supermarket have been enjoying some seriously fruity apple and pear prices.
Pak 'n' Save Hastings has been selling red delicious apples and NZ Bosc pears for 9c per kilo.
Bosc pears sell for around $3.50/kg at most Countdown supermarkets, and apples are currently priced at around $3/kg.
The apples sold out today, and by 9pm on Wednesday evening, there was just one bin of Bosc pears left.
Staff expect the pears to sell out by store's closing this evening.
Hastings is one of Hawke's Bay's two major urban centres and is one of New Zealand's largest apple, pear and stone-fruit producing regions.
