Police in Gisborne have launched a homicide investigation after a man was discovered with stab wounds last night.
Officers were called to the Childers Rd address around 10pm last night where they discovered the 33-year-old male.
He was transported to hospital but died on arrival.
The death is being treated as suspicious, Detective Sergeant Kevin Ford said.
Police are speaking to a small group of people who were at the house last night.
“We have a number of people to speak to and hopefully we will be able to ascertain what happened in the house last night. There will also be some forensic examinations taking place today,” Mr Ford said.
A post mortem will be conducted tomorrow.
