A "huge" number of people attempted to illegally livestream the Joseph Parker vs Andy Ruiz title bout online on Saturday night, according to SKY TV.

The pay-TV operator has confirmed it took down many unlawful streams during the night, despite prosecuting seven people only two days ago.

"This is our property, it is theft to take it, and the law will stand beside us," Duco chief executive Martin Snedden said on Friday.

A spokeswoman for SKY told Newshub says they're following up the latest alleged streams, and will have more information in the coming days.

Newshub has contacted promoter Duco for comment.

Mr Snedden said on Friday Duco now has Facebook's support in clamping down on livestreaming. The company estimates more than 100,000 people watched Parker's fight with Solomon Haumono earlier this year on Facebook.

A search for 'Joseph Parker live stream' on Facebook on Sunday morning after the fight brought up countless hits.
