Police have named the seven men found dead after the Francie capsized while crossing the Kaipara Harbour bar on Saturday afternoon.

Eleven people were aboard the charter fishing vessel when it capsized. Three were rescued, seven bodies have been recovered and one man is missing, presumed drowned.

Four of those who died were originally from Tonga.

Taulagi Afamasaga, 56, is still unaccounted for and on Monday his daughter made an emotional plea to bring him home.

On social media the family of 31-year-old victim David Tangi family wrote "I love you David" with a photo of him. He was the youngest man to lose his life.

Fred Marsters, 58, was the operations manager at Independent Liquor, where several of the men on the fishing trip worked.

Fonua Taufa also died when the boat capsized. Mr Taufa's wife Debbie posted on Facebook "Lord, please help me to be strong". The 42-year-old Tongan man was known to many as Nua.

Sunia Ungo'unga, 43, left behind three daughters and a son.

Alipate Afeaki Manumu'a, 33, also had a young family.

Francie's skipper Bill McNatty also died in the tragedy, along with Auerua Ngametuaangai Aria who was 59.

Police continue to search for Mr Afamasaga. Four-wheel-drive vehicles have conducted a further shoreline search on Monday afternoon as well as an air and sea search.
