Two children who left home in search of their missing mother have themselves gone missing.
The siblings, 10-year-old Lyrik Rimene-McRae and 12-year-old Harlem Rimene-McRae, left their Masterton home sometime after 10pm on Sunday.
A family member posted a plea for help on Facebook yesterday, saying their family was "absolutely devastated". She believes they may have gone south towards Wairarapa, but admit they could be "anywhere".
Their mother apparently hasn't been seen for years.
The family member this morning wrote she had woken up "with the support of New Zealand" thanks to the "power of Facebook".
"It's only getting colder and we still have no word on the children's whereabouts," she wrote.
Lyrik is described as a thinly-built female Maori, and was last seen wearing a pink hooded sweatshirt. Harlem is also thinly-built, with short, dark hair.
They were both riding bikes -- Lyrik on a BMX, Harlem on a mountain bike.
