The New Zealand woman killed in a Contiki tour company van crash in Indonesia on Thursday has been named.

Twenty-three-year-old Takapuna woman Danielle Angus died after a Contiki minivan went over a cliff on the way to a surf beach in South Lombok, reports Fairfax.

She was one of seven travellers in the van, along with two other Kiwis.

Director of Contiki NZ Mark Turner said he was "deeply saddened" to hear about the accident.

"Here in New Zealand we are doing everything possible to support the families, directly affected clients and our people during this difficult time," he said.

Christchurch woman Abbey Moore, 29, was injured in the crash. She was knocked unconscious, and is currently in a hospital in Lombok with lacerations, a broken wrist and collarbone.

Representatives from Contiki have travelled to Indonesia to support those in hospital.

The New Zealand embassy in Jakarta is in touch with local authorities.
