A large fire at a Northland campground spread to around 500 square metres before it was contained by the Fire Service.
Authorities were alerted to the blaze near Uretiti Beach Campsite, in Waipu, around 7pm this evening.
Three fire crews, two tankers and a helicopter remain on standby at the scene.
The nearby campsite was not affected.
