Men stabbed, attacked in separate Hutt Valley attacks

Two people were seriously attacked, including one stabbed, in separate incidents in the Hutt Valley overnight.

Police say the first attack happened around 7:30pm on Oxford Tce in Avalon where a 42-year-old man was stabbed in what's thought was an argument between associates.

He was taken to Wellington Hospital with stab wounds and is in a serious, but stable condition.

A 38-year-old woman was arrested and appeared in the Hutt Valley District Court on Tuesday.

In the second incident, a 36-year-old man received serious head injuries as a result of an attack on Delaney Dr in Stokes Valley.

Police are looking for a white car seen leaving the area around the time of the attack.

It's believed the attacks are unrelated and isolated incidents, with police saying there's no need for the public to panic.

But police are looking for witnesses and information relating to both attacks. Anyone with information should call Hutt Valley police or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
