A wet and cold Australian tourist who got lost on a Queenstown mountain is being treated for hypothermia, police say.
Robert Galdamez, 25, from Melbourne, was discovered near the peak of 1748-metre Ben Lomond by search dogs in the early hours of Thursday morning.
He was taken to Lakes District Hospital for treatment for hypothermia and police hadn't yet spoken to him about his ordeal, a spokeswoman said in a statement.
Mr Galdamez, who was only prepared for a day walk, spent nearly two full nights out in the open after getting lost in the Ben Lomond Scenic Reserve on Tuesday.
