Hutt Valley Police are looking for Teariki Leo John Malloy who breached his home detention and is now on the run.
The 26-year-old is a patched member of the Mongrel Mob. Police say he is Maori, 172cm tall and of medium build. He has tattoos on his neck, forearms, left hand, legs and chest.
Police say he has access to firearms and ask the public not to approach him if they see him.
He could be driving any vehicle but he has a Holden Barina registered to him, licence plate number TK6061.
