A woman who was stabbed in Lower Hutt late last week has died, and the case has been upgraded to a homicide.
Police say the 17-year-old has died of her injuries following the stabbing in Naenae on Sunday.
A 35-year-old man is in custody and it's likely further charges will be laid during his next court appearance.
No one else is being sought in relation to the incident.
