America has the FBI's most wanted list and now New Zealand has its own public database.
The web page - www.police.govt.nz/wanteds - features mugshots of alleged criminals along with a list of offences they are charged with, urging members of the public to dob them in to police.
So far 31 alleged criminals from the Wellington region and eastern areas of the North Island appear on the website.
All police districts are expected to have access to the site in about eight weeks, to post their own most wanted.
National crime manager Detective Superintendent Rod Drew hopes this new tool, along with television show Police Ten 7, will assist police in tracking down even more offenders.
"NZ Police has a high level of support from the public, which we are grateful for. This is another way for people to help us get offenders off the street."
