NZ group breaks head-shaving world record

A Guinness World Record for the number of heads shaved in one hour has been broken by a charity group in Northland.

There were 462 heads shaved by just 10 hairdressers at the event, which took place in Keri Keri over the weekend.

The Bald Angels group attempted the record to raise money for children in the Far North, which has one of the highest rates of poverty in New Zealand.

They beat the previous world record, which was set in Milwaukee in the US, in 2012,  by 101 heads.

An announcement will be made in the next three weeks about how much money the event raised.
