A New Zealand man is reported to have died in a mining accident in Queensland.
The contractor is believed to have been fatally injured in an accident near the Xstrata Mount Isa Mines copper smelter yesterday morning.
The Waikato Times reports he is former Waikato resident Jordan Taurima.
The mining company Xstrata, his contractor Incitec Pivot, Queensland police and the state's Department of Mines are all investigating the incident.
