Police have named two men they are seeking after a spate of armed robberies in broad daylight in Auckland.
Alex Tereora, 31, and John Koteka (also known as Paul Wilson), 34, are wanted over three robberies in Mt Eden on Sunday.
At least five shots were fired into the ground during one of the robberies on the Mt Eden Summit.
Police say four victims were confronted by a man who managed to steal money, a cellphone and a bag containing several personal and valuable items, including a Taiwanese passport.
A stolen car used in the robberies was found burned out in Onehunga on Monday morning.
Tereora faces charges over the incident, including the use of a firearm and assault with intent to rob.
He failed to appear in the High Court at Auckland on Monday, and a warrant has been issued for his arrest.
Police believe he may be with Koteka, for whom they also have an arrest warrant over the Mt Eden incidents.
Detective Inspector Scott Beard says both men are considered to be armed and dangerous, and should not be approached by the public.
