Patrick Gower's year in politics

Without doubt it has been one of the most bizarre years in New Zealand political history.

At the centre of it was 3 News political editor Patrick Gower.

He visited Oravida's headquarters in China, where he found photographs of Judith Collins and John Key. He got then-Labour leader David Cunliffe to admit it was wrong to criticise the Prime Minister's fancy digs, when Cunliffe himself lives in a nice place in a leafy suburb.

He got John Key on the defensive over anonymous donations to the National Party, and Maurice Williamson riled up over his resignation as a minister.

Gower was in the room when Mr Key met US President Barack Obama, and when Mr Cunliffe apologised for being a man.

And when Dirty Politics broke, you guessed it – Gower was all over it.

So buckle up, enjoy the ride: here is Patrick Gower's year in review – watch the video.
