Pet goldfish halts Jetstar flight in Wellington

A 20-year-old student is upset and embarrassed after being asked to remove the pet goldfish he was travelling with on his Jetstar flight.

James Ayr told Duncan Garner the tiny two-month-old fish named Lil' b made it through two layers of security.

But it was removed from the plane when a flight attendant saw it sitting on his knee in a Tupperware container.

"We were sort of halfway through take-off and taxiing along the runway, when we were told that we weren't going to be taking off because we had something onboard that we shouldn’t have had."

The flight was delayed 40 minutes while the fish was removed.
