Phil Rudd flips out at cameraman after court appearance

Former AC/DC drummer Phil Rudd put on an explosive show today – and there were no amplifiers needed.

The troubled musician performed for 3 News' camera outside his beachfront Tauranga home, after being remanded on bail for breaching his home detention conditions over the weekend.

Rudd took an exception to the waiting cameraman and his own security guard couldn't calm him down as he put on a big song and dance as he tried to enter his home.

Just 11 days ago, Rudd was sentenced to eight months' home detention for threatening to kill an employee and drugs charges.

Today, he threatened the 3 News cameraman.

It was at the same property on Saturday night Rudd is alleged to have breached conditions of his home detention by possessing and consuming alcohol.

This morning, he appeared briefly in Tauranga District Court, clearly unimpressed to be back in the dock.

While Rudd muttered expletives under his breath, he entered no plea.

He has been in an out of court in recent months and today was carrying the weight of his convictions on his back with no public support from his former band – who are currently on a world tour with another drummer.
