Three people died and seven were injured by a tornado which left a trail of damage across the upper North Island yesterday.
The tornado hit during a storm which also brought torrential rain to the region, causing floods and disrupting traffic in Auckland. Efforts are underway today to clean up the damage.
The three victims of the storm died at a construction site in Hobsonville which can be seen in these aerial photos taken over the area today.
