Protester dishes dirt on Banks

A protester has thrown a bucket of dirt on former ACT leader John Banks as he arrived at Auckland High Court.
The substance covered one side of Banks' suit. The man was pulled away as he hurled abuse at Banks, whose trial for knowingly filing a false electoral return during his failed mayoral campaign is due to start later this morning.
Others in front of the court said the man acted alone and was not connected to their protest.
"It's definitely not my style," said protester Penny Bright, who added she was having a cup of tea when "all hell broke loose".
"I've never seen him before in my life," she said, describing the man as 60-something with white hair and a beard.
The MP's judge-only trial is scheduled to last 10 days. The start of the trial has been delayed to allow Banks to change clothes.
