A Kiwi gamer filming himself for YouTube got more action than he bargained for when Monday morning's big quake struck.
"Just had a 6.6 Magnitude Earthquake here! All caught on VIDEO! Cannot believe it happened in the middle of my video!" he posted on his Twitter account, @TheeOmega_.
The quake, which hit at 12:02am, was initially believed to be magnitude 6.6, but later revised up to 7.5.
He posted a short clip for his 548 Twitter followers before 1am.
"Woah! We're actually having an earthquake," he shouts, reaching to up to secure a nearby bookshelf, loaded with energy drinks.
"We're in a frickin' earthquake! Woah! Woah! We're actually having an earthquake. Woah, guys!"
His YouTube account, TheeOmega, has more than 2000 followers.
