Double Olympic gold medallist Georgina Evers-Swindell was married yesterday at a church in her home province of Hawke's Bay.
The 30-year-old won the double sculls gold medal in Beijing in August with her twin sister Caroline, four years after their victory in the same event in Athens.
Evers-Swindell married fellow rower Sam Earl in front of about 100 friends and family at a church in the small settlement of Pukehou, the Sunday Star Times reported.
Earl, himself a New Zealand representative, is the son of Athol "Joe" Earl, a member of the gold-medal New Zealand eight at the Munich Olympics.
The Star Times said it understood a women's magazine had an exclusive deal to report the wedding, which comes three months after the twins announced their retirement from competitive rowing.
