The search for a missing swimmer in Taupo has been called off by police.
The man, in his 20s, went missing on Saturday. He had been sitting in the natural hot pools in Spa Park before swimming out into the main flow of the Waikato River when he disappeared.
The police dive squad didn't find any signs of the missing man during their search of the river yesterday.
They say it is possible the man successfully swam from Spa Park to Reids Farm and doesn't even know people are looking for him.
