Senior Head Hunters member on meth charges

A Head Hunters head honcho has been arrested on methamphetamine charges.

Police arrested the 59-year-old senior member of the gang after he handed himself in to the Auckland Central police station this morning.

He's been charged with possession of methamphetamine for supply following a search at the Head Hunters headquarters in View Rd, Henderson yesterday afternoon.  The man wasn't at the property during the search.

Officers made contact with him before he went to the police station.

The charge relates to a search warrant carried out at a motel in the Christchurch suburb of Sockburn in early march.

He is set to appear in the Auckland District Court tomorrow.
