Hutt Valley police are looking for a "high-risk convicted sex offender" believed to be somewhere in the wider Wellington area.
Police say Brian Conroy, 43, has breached the conditions of his extended supervision, and a warrant for his arrest has been issued.
"Brian Conroy is a high risk convicted sex offender and police would like to locate him as soon as possible," says Det Sgt Nick Pritchard.
Conroy is described as of Caucasian, thin build and around 184cm tall.
"We urge anyone who sees Brian Conroy to contact 111 as soon as possible or phone Crimestoppers on 0800 555111," says Mr Pritchard.
