New Zealand's avocado shortage has been nothing to laugh about for the nation's growers and consumers - but now it appears that one of hip-hop's biggest names finds it amusing.
California-based rap star Snoop Dogg has made light of the shortage and New Zealand's so-called 'gardening ban' on Facebook, posting an image of a Kiwi woman posing next to her allegedly illegal avocado tree.
The image is accompanied by a caption that reads: "hahahaha she a g".
The photograph was posted on social news networking site Reddit last month, and is part of a long-standing joke that gardens are against the law in New Zealand and will be seized if the authorities are aware of them.
It's uncertain whether Snoop Dogg knows the truth behind the ruse or if he, too, has fallen for it.
