New Zealand's only hospital exclusively for children will today mark 21 years of service.
Starship Hospital was established after a group of medical staff got together in 1981 and formed The New Children's Hospital Trust.
By 1988 they'd raised a quarter of a million dollars and gathered so much support the Government agreed to fund the hospital.
Auckland District Health Board chairman Lester Levy spoke to Firstline this morning.
