A truck and trailer has rolled on State Highway 2 at Mangatawhiri, spilling its cargo of paint over the road.
The accident happened about 1.5km north of Maramarua Golf Course after 8:30am. The driver suffered minor injuries and has been treated at the scene.
Police expect the road to remain closed for most of the morning as they try to clean up the paint spill.
Diversions are in place westbound at Rawiri Rd interchange, and eastbound at Mangatawhiri Rd.
Drivers are being advised to allow extra time for their journey or avoid the area where possible.
