Consumer New Zealand has launched a nationwide campaign against pushy door-to-door sales people.

Sellers risk being trespassed if they ignore a sticker issued by the watchdog.

Chief executive Sue Chetwin says the organisation is concerned by the number of people getting sucked into purchasing overpriced goods and services, or just straight up being scammed.

"We think if we can just stop these people in their tracks… then these people will be less likely to come onto your property because you've given them a sign you don't want them there."

She says  Consumer is getting an increasing number of complaints about door-to-door salespeople.
