Te Teko U10s on a 3-year winning streak

The small Eastern Bay of Plenty town of Te Teko is home to one of the most successful sports teams in the country.

For the last three years the Te Teko U10 JAB rugby team haven't lost a game – that's 48 games unbeaten.

Speaking to The Hui, their coach, Iraia Peri thinks their winning streak is down to the bond the players share with each other. He says, they're like brothers and sisters while the kids themselves think that it's all down to hard work.

The team is made up of players from Te Teko and surrounding areas, and travel throughout the Eastern Bay for their games which can be as far away as Opotiki but the kids say they wouldn't want any other way.

Rugby is in Te Teko's DNA, the local club is more than 125 years old and this team is the next generations of footy fanatics and talent coming through.
