The 23-year-old victim from Feilding was stabbed repeatedly in the head and neck with a pocket knife while he was walking through the central city in the early hours of October 8.
Police said today that Dylan Nuku, 18, had been remanded in custody on charges of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and burglary.
