Two women will appear before the Hamilton Youth Court today after they allegedly assaulted a taxi driver and stole his taxi last night.
According to police, the two teens, aged 15 and 17, called for the taxi and were asked to pay for the trip before they travelled.
They then assaulted the driver and stole the vehicle.
Police chased the vehicle until spikes were used on Memorial Dr. Not long after the car was stopped on Anzac Parade.
The 15-year-old was processed for excess breath alcohol and charged with aggravated robbery, dangerous driving and failing to stop.
Her 17-year-old passenger was charged with aggravated robbery.
