Three men linked to the Head Hunters gang have been taken into custody on charges relating to the sale and distribution of methamphetamine.

Two of the men, aged 25 and 29, were charged with the crime on Thursday and the third, a 24-year-old, was arrested on Friday over his alleged offences.

The National Organised Crime Group (NOCG) and Wairarapa Police collaborated to carry out the investigations leading to them being remanded.

The trio now await an appearance at Masterton District Court on Monday, December 5.

Operation Frozen is thought to have exposed a meth distribution network that involves members of the Head Hunters gang.

Detective Senior Sergeant Nick Pritchard of the NOCG says the network is believed to extend well beyond the Wairarapa region.

"The investigation is ongoing and while I cannot provide additional detail at this stage, there may be further arrests in coming days," he said.

Detective Senior Sergeant Barry Bysouth said the focus remains on purging the community of methamphetamine.

"I'd like to encourage anyone who is either struggling with methamphetamine themselves, or who knows someone who is, to seek help," he said.

"You can approach Police direct, or make contact with Te Hauora Runanga O Wairarapa, or Pathways Wairarapa."

Snr Sgt Bysouth said for those wishing to get help anonymously, the alcohol and drug helpline can be reached on 0800 787 797.
