A video of a farewell haka to the three Kiwi soldiers who died this month in Afghanistan has gone viral on the internet after a tweet from CNN reporter Piers Morgan.

The haka was preformed by the Second and First Battalion Royal New Zealand Infantry Regiment at Saturday’s funeral service for Corporal Luke Tamatea, 31, Lance Corporal Jacinda Baker, 26, and Private Richard Harris, 21.

The three died when their vehicle was struck by a roadside bomb in Bamiyan Province on August 18.

The video, uploaded by the New Zealand Defence Force to website YouTube, has received more than 150,000 views from around the world.

CNN host Piers Morgan posted on Twitter, “Astounding, and deeply moving, Haka tribute to fallen comrades in Afghanistan by @NZDefenceForce”, linking the video to his more than 2.6 million followers.
